The third of the Junior Grand Prix (JGP) Series concluded yesterday in Mexico City, Mexico. The JGP consists of eight competitions held throughout the world, culminating in the JGP Final. The events are:
- JGP France: Courchevel, France (August 27-30)
- JGP Italy: Merano, Italy (September 3-7)
- JGP Mexico: Mexico City, Mexico (September 10-14)
- JGP Czech Republic: Ostrava, Czech Republic (September 17-21)
- JGP Spain: Madrid, Spain (September 24-28)
- JGP Belarus: Gomel, Belarus (October 1-5)
- JGP South Africa: Cape Town, South Africa (October 8-12)
- JGP Great Britain: Sheffield, Great Britain (October 15-18)
- JGP Final: Goyang City, South Korea (December 10-14)
At the conclusion of JGP Mexico, the U.S.'s Amanda Dobbs (see right) and Alexe Gilles won gold and silver, respecively. South Korea's Min-Jung Kwak took the bronze. For the men, the U.S.'s Richard Dornbush won the gold, Elladj Balde from Canada took the silver, and Gongming Cheng from China took the bronze. Andrew Gonzales from the U.S. took fourth place. In ice dancing, Madison and Keiffer Hubbell from the U.S. won the event, with Kharis Ralph and Asher Hill from Canada taking the silver. Valeria Zenkova and Valerie Sinitsin from Russia took the bronze. The Hubbells' teammates Sara Bailey and Kyle Herring took fourth place. JGP Mexico is the first junior grand prix event with a pairs competition and Russia took the top three places: Ksenia Krasilnikova and Konstantin Bezmaternikh took gold, Ekaterina Sheremetieva and Mikhail Kuznetsov took silver and Anastasia Martiusheva and Alevei Rogonov took bronze. The U.S.'s pairs teams finished seventh, eighth and ninth.
