I'm thrilled that Brian Joubert has won the 2008 Cup of Russia! Although he didn't make the quad toeloop jump as he did in the short program, the rest of the program to the soundtrack from The Last of the Mohicans was stellar, including his triple axel-triple toeloop, triple flip, triple axel-double toeloop, triple loop, triple Lutz-double toeloop, and a myriad of other elements. I like Brian because he attacks his programs, regardless of whether he's faltering in the beginning, middle or end. Is that the mark of a true champion? Brian's headed to the Grand Prix Final for sure and I hope he keeps this level of skating up. What a fantastic competition it will be -- we already know Canada's Patrick Chan, Japan's Takahiko Kozuka and Brian Joubert will be in the Final. I can't wait!
