The pairs free skate at the 2008 Cup of Russia was very close with .15 points separating the first and second place free skate scores. Russia's Yuko Kawaguchi and Alexander Smirnov (who won Skate Canada) actually won the free skate with 110.51 points, followed by China's Dan Zhang and Hao Zhang (张丹 or 張丹; 张昊 or 張昊), who received 110.36 points. But Zhang and Zhang were so far ahead after the short program, that they won the gold with a total of 177.42 points. So Zhang and Zhang are now the Cup of China AND the Cup of Russia winners!
