Andy Williams can skate! I was thoroughly impressed by everything he did. Yes, he was replaced by the "stunt double" skater for the spins, but still, I saw some nice forward and backward gliding. Plus, he was lip-synching while still keeping up with the choreography. I wonder how many takes they had to do. Can you imagine today's singers strapping on a pair of skates when they collaborate to do skating spectaculars? I think the last show that I watched through icenetwork was Seal on Ice. I can't really see Seal in the finale number with Kristi, Brian and Todd gliding around. Oh how times have changed...

There is some history related to this video clip:
The best young figure skaters in southern California skated with Andy Williams in his 1967 Christmas show. The children were selected based on their placement at the 1968 Southwest Pacific regional.
U.S. Figure Skating National Technical Specialist and Chairman and coach, Billy Schneider, was the youngest boy skater in the group and holds Andy Williams' hand in this scene.
(Billy is my brother. He placed 2nd in "Southwest" in Juvenile Boys that year. Since video recordings were not available "way back then," our family only saw this scene once when it was actually aired in 1967. It wasn't until the Christmas season of 2006, that I stumbled on this video clip. I was just so delighted to see my "little brother" skating with Andy Williams! I am the one who put the clip on YouTube.)
Other skaters who became famous in this scene include JoJo Starbuck and Kenneth Shelley.
I recognize many of the other skaters in the scene. They include Kathy Nitz, Shanna Walker, Greg Boyvin, Terri Beckerman, and Larry Seale.
