I had a great one-on-one interview with Nancy Kerrigan (see right) at Ice Theatre of New York's 2008 benefit gala. Nancy is a two-time Olympic medalist (1992 and 1994), commentator for icenetwork, producer, entertainer, mother to three young children (her daughter Nicole was born about six months ago) and wife to sports agent Jerry Solomon, and with all that, she told me they don't use nannies or any outside help! Occasionally, her parents and cousins help out, but Nancy and Jerry make sure to be involved parents.
I really enjoyed talking to her about a variety of topics, from family, to her favorite skating memories, to being a skating analyst, and many more. I don't know where people get their impressions from, but prior to the interview, I had read that she was not very chatty, was uncomfortable talking on camera, frosty...huh? Are we talking about the same person? There was not a hint of any of that from what I saw. She came across as truly the "girl next door," very approachable and kind of chatty. And laughed easily. I noticed that the most -- with me and with others who surrounded her at the gala. I hope you'll agree after seeing the video!

Absolutely great interview! It was good to see her share about the ups and downs of our sport. Nice to see Nancy getting the recognition she deserves.
