Ahem.... Just a word from the Peanut Gallery over here in Roller World... ;-) Caydee may not be a completely known quantity to the ice world, but to the roller skating world in the USA Caydee is a former US National Juvenile Singles and Elementary Pairs Champion. Had she stayed in roller skating she would probably have been skating on the World Team by now. But instead the Denney family moved their girls to ice instead... Not to be outdone, Caydee's sister, Haven Denney and Daniel Raad, placed in Novice Pairs on Tuesday. Both girls come from a wonderfully supportive family who have sacrificed a lot to have their daughters involved in the sport.

By the way-- are YOU coming to LA for Worlds?

A tiny bit of additional, interesting, information about the "Denney" girls:

Caydee and Haven's parents Bryan and DeeDee Denney actually MET due to pairs skating - in the competitive roller-skating world!

Both competed in rollerskating: Bryan (who had won national titles in singles, dance, and pairs) had recently won the 1988 US Senior Pairs title and finished fifth at Worlds with partner Laurie Campbell, and was looking for a new partner. All it took was one try-out with DeeDee, (Deann Deluca at the time) who skates singles, and had won titles in Senior Free Dance with Craig Chase in 86 & 87, (but she had never skated pairs!) and the rest is history.
I only know these facts as I skated singles for the Denney's in Ocala, Florida when they coached roller-skating in the mid 1990's. I loved the story of how they met!

The Denney’s are wonderful people -- it is great to see their daughters doing so awesome!
