The 2009 Eastern Synchronized Skating Sectional Championships
were held from January 28-31 at the William G. Mennen Sports Arena in
Morristown, New Jersey. Fifteen intermediate teams competed and the top four qualify for the 2009 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships, which will be held in Portland, Maine, in early March. The Carolina Ice Synchro intermediate team placed fourth overall and I had a chance to meet the team members, coach and the enthusiastic group of parents and supporters who made the trip from Hillsborough, North Carolina. I loved the team's 1950s-inspired program as well as their hot pink polk dot costumes!
