The 2009 Eastern Synchronized Skating Sectional Championships
were held from January 28-31 at the William G. Mennen Sports Arena in
Morristown, New Jersey. Seven novice teams competed and the top six qualify for the 2009 U.S. Synchronized Skating Championships, which will be held in Portland, Maine, in early March. The Ice Mates, representing the Hayden Recreation Centre in Lexington, Massachusettes, took first place with a total of 69.06 points. They are coached by Saga Krantz (former member of the world famous Finland Rockettes), who is assisted by Dede Wilson and Ron Kravette.
