Nobunari Oda of Japan is the men's champion at the 2009 Trophee Eric Bompard. I watched on icenetwork and boy, is there anyone who can beat Nobu when it's his day? He racked up 242.53 points, about 12.57
points ahead of silver medalist Tomas Verner from the Czech Republic, who had 229.96 points. The U.S.'s Adam Rippon had a great day also, taking the bronze with 219.96 points. I listened to Peter Carruthers' commentary on Universal Sports and he was right on between the difference in Nobu and Tomas' programs. Nobu was in complete character as Charlie Chaplin and stayed with the storyline throughout the entire program. Tomas still needed to develop his Godfather persona but it was good start for his first major competition.
