Results of Junior Grand Prix - Dresden, Germany

The fifth of the 2009-2010 ISU Junior Grand Prix (JGP) Series concluded yesterday in Dresden, Germany. The JGP consists of seven competitions held throughout the world, culminating in the JGP Final. The events are:

• Junior Grand Prix Budapest, Hungary (August 26 - 30, 2009)
• Junior Grand Prix Lake Placid, USA (September 2 - 6, 2009)
• Junior Grand Prix Torun, Poland (September 9 - 13, 2009)
• Junior Grand Prix Minsk (September 23 - 27, 2009)
• Junior Grand Prix Dresden (September 30 - October 4, 2009)
• Junior Grand Prix Zagreb (October 7 - 11, 2009)
• Junior Grand Prix Istanbul (October 14 - 18, 2009)
• Junior Grand Prix Final, Tokyo, Japan (December 3 - 6, 2009) 

For the junior ladies, Kiri Baga and Angela Maxwell from the U.S. won gold and silver, respectively, followed by Polina Agafonova from Russia. For the junior men, Nan Song from China came from behind to win the freeskate and took the gold. Artur Gachinski from Russia won the silver, and teammate Gordei Gorshkov won the bronze. In junior pairs, Wenjing Sui and Cong Han from China won the gold, Yue Zhang and Lei Wang also from China won the silver, and Britney Simpson and Nathan Miller from the U.S. won the bronze. The newly-formed pairs team of Felicia Zhang and Taylor Toth from the U.S. came in 11th place. In junior ice dance, Ekaterina Pushkash and Jonathan Guerreiro from Russia won the gold, Lorenza Alessandrini and Simone Vaturi from Italy took the silver, and Piper Gilles and Zachary Donohue from the U.S. won the bronze.
