A new figure skating book is out for young adults called Cammie and Alex's Adventures at Rainbow Rinks. Written by Olga Jaffae, this is her sequel to Cammie and Alex's Adventures in Skateland, which was published in the summer of 2008. (Read my review of Skateland here.) In the sequel, eleven-year-old Cammie idolizes 16-year-old Isabelle, who's a new skater at the rink and has the gorgeous and expensive clothing Cammie admires. Cammie and Isabelle soon become best friends and Isabelle convinces Cammie to move to Skateland, a magical place where everyone skates everywhere and school is all about learning the history and physics of skating. As the weeks pass, Cammie suspects that someone is trying to sabotage her chances at a gold medal at a major competition. Could it be Isabelle!?! But why? They're best friends!
Did Cammie make the right move to move away from home and train at Skateland? Do Cammie and Isabelle remain best friends or is there something dastardly going on? Will Cammie's friend Alex come save the day when she needs him the most? All these questions will be answered once you read the book!
